His habit of simply allowing things to happen often irritates others around him that are more goal oriented and serious. They often find the boy to be completely (unmotivated) and irritating. The boy seemingly has no personal agenda of his own and seems to be perfectly content sitting around playing his shamisen, playing Go with To-chan, or conversing with the Seven Tailed Beast that resides within him. He will often go out of his way to make sure that he does not have to perform any real work. Ironically, doing more work in the pursuit of laziness then if he had simply done the task set before him. Despite his laid back and lazy attitude Masa will fly into action if someone is in need or simply asks for his help, even if he gripes about it. Masa is an incredibly (kind) young man who cannot bear to see other's suffer. He devotes himself to the cause of the down trodden with (reckless) abandon. Masa is not above circumventing any obstacles that stand in his way if they interfere with his ability to help those in need, no matter what or who they need be. To-chan attributes this kindness to his past experiences of alienation. Masa's childhood virtually defined every aspect of the boy. As a child he had very little interaction with others. He had reoccurring dreams of a massive beetle terrorizing him through out his village only to have the people turn their backs on him, some going as far as halting his progress. That made him incredibly skittish around others. Because of this he devoted much of his time to music, playing the shamisen frequently. Eventually the playing became a sort of meditation. During this fits of meditation Masa developed a relationship with the Seven Tailed Horned Beetle, arguably one of the best that any Jinchikuri has ever had with their Bijuu. Masa took to calling the demon To-chan and frequently speaks with him. This leads most to see Masa as being incredibly (odd). He can often be seen conversing with himself or playing go by himself. This often unnerves others and only served to further make Masa an object of ridicule. The Bijuu has a stake in Masa's actions as well, often acting as a sort of secondary conscience for the boy. Though, the Bijuu's destructive nature shine through and makes Masa, in turn, (destructive) as well. Despite this quirks Masa is well known for being rather wily and (clever). Despite his distance from others in school and the effects of his nightmares he was still near the top of his class. He often comes up with odd, ingenuitive ideas to solve his problems rather than taking the most obvious route or the one that takes the most work; these ideas can be likened to Rube Goldberg machines. His cleverness is what led him to blend tai and ninjutsu together becoming one of the few people to use nintaijutsu. As clever as he is his plans are certainly not fool proof and he often vocalizes that he has a seventy five percent success rating, though To-chan often clarifies that it's less than that. Because of the 'moving parts' associated with his plans they can come apart quite easily. Because of this Masa is incredibly (accident prone). Thankfully, his body is strong enough to take whatever damage comes it's way. Even so, his plans and those of others often fall apart after the accident occurs.
