It felt as though the days were merging, becoming one indeterminable blur after another. The sun rose, the sun fell; she slept, she ate, but otherwise, she just walked. There was a certain fear for her life, of course, but that was probably normal; what was abnormal was that, for the most part...she didn't want to care if she died or not. Life didn't feel worth living anymore; but she wouldn't go down without a fight. She wasn't a coward. She groaned heavily and rubbed between her eyes, realizing she was having another argument with herself. Then again, who was she going to argue with? She was alone...irrefutably and indefinitely alone, and Koori was just fine with that. It was better that way.
She blamed her lack of concentration bringing her onto this mountain top; how out of it exactly was she that she couldn't feel the changes in pressure, the warmer air becoming colder and colder. Her legs wobbled a little; how long had she been walking? Her stomach growled, but she easily ignored that for now, it wasn't important to her. What was completely taking up her thoughts was figuring out just where she was. Clearing her head for a minute, she noticed a little, plain bench not too far from where she was standing. The white haired girl glanced around for a split moment, cobalt eyes narrowed as she fixed the somewhat tattered sleeve of her top back on her shoulder. She didn't sense any other chakra...well, animals and plants, but not people. She slowly made her way over to the bench and sat down, a sigh of relief escaping her as she did.
She opened her eyes again to find herself looking over a vast expanse of land. She could see a large town not too far off, and she tried to figure out just which town it was. Then she remembered her bag; what was she becoming? An old woman? She snorted and shifted her bag off her hip, opening it and pulling out a piece of paper, folded over multiple times, unfolding it to reveal a map. She rubbed her palm hard on the paper to rub out the creases and read it quietly. If she had gone south, more than likely she was near Hikari...so now she was in the South Kingdom? She was the farthest from home she possibly could be, but maybe that was also for the best. Maybe she could be safe here...for at least long enough to get her bearings and continue on her way. It was never safe to stay in one place too long of course.
She didn't need to get attached. tagged , Open words , Many notes , lyrics from kids by mgmt credits , post template by vitriol of on the edge. |

[atrb=background,http://i53.tinypic.com/28m240.jpg][atrb=style,border: 4px solid #FFFFFF;][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,480,true]NEVER APART OF THIS WORLD I AM DOOMED TO WALK ALONE Itachi had finally seemed to get away from the rest of the world. The South kingdom was becoming more and more of a hassle everyday. Sasuke, wanting him to train with him and any other misfits or person that wanted something from the "great Uchiha prodigy". It got irritating oh so fast. The man simply didn't know what to do anymore, well of course he had to listen to his father and the kage of the place, but otherwise he wanted people to just leave him alone. Even Kakashi, the man who had become his "partner" over the last few months seemed to almost hate him.
Itachi was just tired of all the stress. This war was becoming more and more aggressive every day and it was changing people. It was forcing him, to change. The normally quit and easy going uchiha who hated to fight, into someone who was forced to just about every day it seemed. Sure, his sharingan was stronger than anyone else, maybe even Kakashi's, but that didn't mean he was just a tool to through around at will. Or maybe he was. Perhaps that was what it meant to be a shinobi right now. Previously, before this war, everyone had always been equal and even shinobi from different kingdoms had been friends.
Now, all of that was gone and was replaced with something of pain and strife. Things the Uchiha did not want to hear. Itachi closed his eyes as he walked taking everything from the past few months and just dropping it from his mind. He didn't need it there right now. This was to rest and relax. It was the whole reason he had simply "disappeared" for the day. No work, no people, and above all else, no stress. Or at least until someone had to come and find him. He knew the idiots of the South Kingdom couldn't survive a full day without their favorite Uchiha around so he only hoped it would last a while.
Itachi let his feet carry him higher up the mountain that overshadowed the South Kingdom. He knew of a hidden place up on the mountain that looked over all of the South's boarders. He didn't think many people knew about the place, but then again, he had been so busy how would he know. As he finally made it to a stop, a sudden chakra nature seemed to reach him. His onyx hues opened to see a woman near the bench that looked over the kingdom. As he glanced at her he took in her appearance and feel of chakra. She was not from the South that much he knew. The only question that came from his mind was, is she an enemy?.
Itachi was not in the mood or mindset for this. His hands stayed at his side and he tried, very hard not to let his sharingan activate just yet. After all there was a chance she was not an enemy, a very, very small chance. But there still was one, if this meeting could happen without any fighting Itachi would be grateful. There was rarities now in days that fighting didn't take place though. Itachi finally made his presence known as he walked up behind her though kept his distance from where she sat.
"Your not from around here are you?" he said with his monotone voice. He hoped she didn't over-react to him. How he wished fighting would not happen, but the Uchiha was ready for it, either way. |

The sudden presence startled her; she tensed, but did not immediately move to look at him just then. She kept her dark eyes trained on her map, calmly folding it once more before she slowly turned her head. She tilted her chin up to look toward his face, studying his features for a moment before she would speak. He was tense...and his chakra signature was...odd. It threw her off, but she didn't let it show. Simply enough, she smiled lightly toward this curious stranger, allowing her white hair to fall somewhat in her face.
"Very observant." She chuckled, tucking her stray hair back behind her ear before she turned slightly in her seat, facing him better as she put her map away.
"No, I am merely a traveler...enjoying the sights and such." She lied easily and waved her hand, not dismissively but more toward the expanse that stretched out toward Hikari, the South Kingdom.
"It all seems very lovely from up here...I can't wait to see the city from the inside." |
[/color] Koori looked back up to him and smiled again. "But where are my manners? My name is Rin...what would yours be?"[/color] She lied again and asked softly, watching and observing him quietly from her seat. That chakra signature was still bothering her though...as much as she didn't want to, she was more than prepared to fight this man if the need be. He was more than likely a shinobi, and as a wanderer she was always at risk. She didn't know if her crimes were known in the other kingdoms, and the last thing she wanted was to have to defend herself in the state she was in. She was hungry, dehydrated, and almost exhausted from the expanse that she traveled. Her plan was to get to the city and find an inn to stay in to get her bearings: food, new clothes, and a job. She would probably stay for a month or two before she got on the move again. It wasn't what Koori exactly wanted for herself, but she had no choice at this point. She also noted that the other seemed rather annoyed too. She wasn't sure if it was because of her presence, or something else, but she would have to tread carefully. She didn't want to fight this person if she had no reason to.[/div] tagged , Itachi words , Many notes , lyrics from kids by mgmt credits , post template by vitriol of on the edge. [atrb=background,http://i53.tinypic.com/28m240.jpg][atrb=style,border: 4px solid #FFFFFF;][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,480,true]NEVER APART OF THIS WORLD I AM DOOMED TO WALK ALONE Itachi's eyes as good as they where, were trained completely on the girl. He watched as she stiffened at his words as if she hadn't felt him previously. It seemed this woman was not a shinobi that was good with sensing chakra natures,if she was even a ninja at all. Her chakra seemed to make Itachi think otherwise however. She had simply to much to be a normal civilian. There were a few cases Itachi knew of that were like that but not many at all. So he was a little weary himself, just because he had stronger abilities than the rest of his clan didn't mean that he flaunted his power and wasn't afraid.
No, quite the opposite really. He feared one day another shinobi would show up that would be his match. That was what frightened Itachi. And this girl, could very well be that one. Which is what made Itachi even more weary. Even if the South Kingdom was crowded, Itachi knew just about every face, and he was definite she was not a part of them. He watched her with a calm expression that revealed nothing of what he was feeling or thinking. As she spoke he lifted his head up just a bit. This woman was quite strange, though he was one to talk the way people were always afraid of him.
"A Shinobi is trained from a young age to be observant from a young age, anything else would mean the difference between life and death." he stated flatly to her. He didn't know why he felt so formal when he was around this girl, he just did. He had never really liked that kind of thing though. He just felt like this is what people expected from him though, to be the one who would stand up and be formal and not afraid to say what was exactly truth and what was lie.
When she continued speaking Itachi decided to keep quiet and just listen to her silently. He listened very carefully as if his eyes could examine the very words that came out of her mouth. In a way they could do just that. But, then again, he didn't want to activate his sharingan. Even though she did seem like she was a nice person, people had gotten better and better at hidding themselves. Even if Itachi wanted to, he knew he couldn't believe a word this woman said. He just couldn't. One fool mistake and he could end up putting the entire kingdom at risk. He noticed that she was addressing him then.
"I am going to be straight forward with you. I wish I could believe you, but there is something about you. Your reaction time, your chakra level, things like that that just don't fit with what you say you are. I know for a fact that you aren't from the South Kingdom, anywhere, from in its boarders.. cause I have been just about everywhere within this Kingdom and I remember every face. So your story of traveling is decent, but exactly from where have you come from? You could easily be from another kingdom."
He didn't like how his speech seemed harsh and uncaring. He really didnt' like this entire situation at all. He had only come to rest, and this was what he got instead. Life was such a pain in the ass sometimes, and Itachi knew this well. He had pretty much put up with it his whole life. "I hate being lied to.. and ... to be honest with you, my eyes, aren't normal. Perhaps you've heard of my clan. The clan with vision that can't be matched to even that of the Hyuuga, the Uchiha clan. You asked for my name earlier." he said closing his eyes silently.
"I will tell you it to be Itachi Uchiha, Level S of the shinobi of the South Kingdom." he said with a slight pause as he opened his eyes now filled with the three tomahawk sharingan. "And I hope your as good at telling the truth than you are at lying." he said. Itachi still didn't want to get into a fight. But if she was going to lie to him, he might as well use his sharingan. He was willing to give this girl a chance and if she tried anything his sharingan would catch it. He was still hoping this wouldn't resort in violence, but the more this went on, the more Itachi was beginning to believe it would. |

Their kekkei genkai had been heard of from miles around, especially in every kingdom...and now those bloody eyes were looking right at her, expecting the truth that she had hid. The smile on her face became slightly smaller, curving into more straight lips, a calm look taking over her features as he continued. It was true...everything about her screamed shinobi, no matter how she made herself look. And he knew she wasn't from the South Kingdom, though she really hadn't said that she was...she wasn't even going to try that one.
It wasn't as though she wanted to lie to a stranger; her identity was something she wanted protected, so hopefully he hadn't caught on that she'd given him a false name. Still, at the same time, she could understand why he was so extremely wary of her; in this time of war, no one really could be trusted. Just as he didn't trust her to tell the truth, she didn't trust him to leave her be even if she did tell him the truth. She turned quietly back toward her lap and bag, opening it to check to see if she had any food or money that she'd be able to make use of.
"Impressive...Uchiha, yes?" She murmured as she idly dug through her bag, disappointed to see that she had no food, but as luck would have it she did have some money on her. She hoped it would be enough for food...or at least a place to stay.
"I don't know what you expected when you approached me, but I'll tell you right now...I have no reason, or honestly a desire to get into a fight." Her tone was curt, polite enough with just a tinge of annoyance behind her words. "If you must know, though, I am from the North Kingdom, and the truth is I want nothing more to do with the South Kingdom than to gather myself and leave once more."
That was as much truth as she would tell him, not knowing if it would satisfy him or not; it was vague, but the truth nonetheless.
"I commend you for being so loyal to your kingdom though...you are a good man." She murmured, mostly to herself as she stared into her bag; her hand had stopped moving long moments ago as she simply just stared down into the darkness of the fabrics. There was a strange tone to her voice when she said that, but she easily cleared her throat and closed the bag again, standing and looking right to him with calm eyes.
Koori simply smiled again; she didn't move to leave though, unless he said it was alright. She still didn't want that fight on her hands. She felt the hunger pangs set in again and she winced a little bit, placing a hand on her stomach as it growled, rather loudly too.

[atrb=background,http://i53.tinypic.com/28m240.jpg][atrb=style,border: 4px solid #FFFFFF;][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,480,true]NEVER APART OF THIS WORLD I AM DOOMED TO WALK ALONE From the look on the woman's face, she did know exactly who and what the Uchiha clan was. Then again, he wasn't surprised. The clan was famous. Very famous. It was probably one of the main reasons everyone thought that the South Kingdom was so powerful. The uchiha mentally sighed to himself. What a stupid question that had been after all. Even the rouge's that didn't live in one nation knew of the Uchiha clan, not that he knew the girl in front of him was indeed that.
At the sight of her smile fading Itachi grew more restless. He wasn't really comfortable in these types of situations but then again, he never had been. It didn't help when her facial features became almost completely blank. That put him on edge even more, and even worse than that when she began to dig in her bag. There could be anything in there as his now scarlet hues traced her every movement.
Itachi's eyes flickered back up to her's when she spoke. He really didn't like the casual feel this female was giving off. As if this was completely fine. As if they were simply talking about the weather instead of on the verge of a fight. He next words however, caught him off guard. So, she didn't want to fight. He let his body posture force a little bit loose. He could hear the annoyance coming through as plain as daylight. He still didn't think everything was okay. When she said she was from the north, Itachi could tell she was telling the truth.
He closed his eyes and let out a breath. Once he re-opened his eyes the scarlet color was gone from within them. "I believe you on that part of your story. But, why would someone from the North want to come here?" he asked calmly. It wasn't a question that he was trying to force on her or trying to get information. It was just simply a question, probably from being quite a pain in the ass. He let out a sigh at the last of her words. Loyal, he guessed, good man? Ha! Itachi had done a lot of things he wasn't proud of and that didn't make him a good man in the slightest.
Itachi sighed again. " I have caused you trouble, so, I will try to repay that dept to you. I will be your escort through the South kingdom. If you are with me, no one will say anything about you being here. I will also treat you to something to eat." he said calmly.

He didn't want to fight either...? That was good...wonderful, really. Even more that he even wanted to escort her through town and pay for her next meal? Even better! If he really knew what she was, however, she doubted he'd be as hospitable as he was being to her. Still, she smiled and shifted her bag easier on her shoulder.
"My, what a gentleman...are you sure it's not a bother to you, Uchiha-san?" She demurely place her hand to her lips as she chuckled softly, feminine and gentle as she waited for him.
"And to answer your question..." |
[/color] She began, as he had asked what someone from the North would want to do with the Southern Kingdom. "...We could say that I needed a change of scenery."[/color] She murmured that last part and closed her eyes once more, momentarily before she opened them again and turned her back on him, toward the way that would head into the town. She walked a few steps, before glancing over her shoulder at him; she watched him with those dark eyes of hers, studying the male for the longest moment before she smiled sweetly again, tilting her head to allow white strands of hair to drape along her pale face. "Well, sendatsu-san? Shall we get going?"[/color] She asked playfully, waiting for him so that the two of them could leave together.[/div] tagged , Itachi words , Many notes , lyrics from kids by mgmt credits , post template by vitriol of on the edge.
